Real Estate Aerial Photography with drones become more and more popular among realtors and agents. Thanks to the high-end technology of drones, now they can get amazing photos and videos of property from the comfort of their own homes and phones. From cinematic footage around a property, to bird-eye view images, drones capture the essence of a residential or commercial property for you. Today, NiceColor will share with you some of the key drone shots that can help realtors and photographers to get amazing photos and videos to attract more customers.
Real Estate Aerial Photography with Top-Down Photograph
The first shot we should know is a Top-down photograph. You can call it ‘Nadir’. And it is a kind of vertical photo taken from directly above the property. Then you need to position the drone right above the house to take a shot of the whole area for the specific house with neighborhood and surrounding. The aim of this shot is to provide the whole view of the property including boundaries, land size, layout, specific dimensions, and any significant features like a pool or basketball court. So that potential buyers can get a clear understanding of the property easily. And it can make your property appear more authentic and realistic in their eyes.
You can use the Color fading of the surrounding area/buildings effect to highlight your property. Or you can use the direction arrow to show up your house. Then the post-production process can help you further enhance the image and its quality to the viewer.
Real Estate Aerial Photography with High-Oblique Photograph

This kind of shot is a horizontal photo that is taken at an angle between 45–60 degrees. First of all, control the camera drone to this position, roughly 200-300 meters away from the property. Taking advantage of the horizontal line to get a vantage view of the suburb profile. The idea for this shot is to highlight the nearby landmarks or amenities like shopping centers, schools or cultural attractions, etc. So that you need to include the full property in the lower third with the land and sky. Then homebuyers can easily imagine your area with beautiful landscapes and surrounding neighborhoods. This is a great way to reveal the spacious area with many specific features of the location and the surrounding. We believe that buyers will be happy to know more about the area with its specific location.
Low-Oblique Photograph

Low-Oblique Aerial Photograph is a photograph taken with the camera inclined about 30° from the vertical. This way, we control the drone camera angled slightly above the tree line about 15-20 meters above the ground. You can choose the best angle to take the shot depending on the style of the house. It may shoot straight-on or on a slight-low angle. So that we can get the view of the main house/property as the main focus covering 2/3 of the frame.
Be careful not to have more roof than house in the frame.
One more tip is to try to get close-ups and wide shots from multiple angles. As well as vary the angle, distance, and eye level of each image you take of exterior amenities
Beautiful Property with Nightfall Photograph

As its name, we should take this kind of photograph at sunset time to get the beautiful sky and help the property stand out. It is the combination of pole & angled oblique photographs, to get the most detailed features of the property. And for this shot, you just need to get a little bit of sky, and focus on the house. Bear in mind to turn on all the street, house, and neighborhood lights to light up the area. Then you need to have a professional photographer who can deal with the low-light conditions to get the perfect photos.
